The Steelers way of doing business hasn’t changed all that much under Art Rooney II

The Steelers way of doing business hasn’t changed all that much under Art Rooney II

Philip G. Pavely-USA TODAY Sports Art Rooney II, the team’s president and majority owner, may be more corporate than his grandfather and father ever were, but he’s apparently just as approachable when conducting business. The Mike Tomlin interview that he did recently on the Pivot Podcast hosted by former NFL players Ryan Clark, Channing Crowder and Fred Taylor sure was a treasure trove of information and personality by the normally evasive Steelers head coach, right? Maybe it was because Tomlin is now good friends with Clark, his former player. Maybe it was...

4 players on the Steelers roster bubble that can’t be cut

While all four of these players are squarely on the Steelers roster bubble, the team would be wise to keep them on the roster this season. The roster bubble is a constant talking point in the offseason and during training camp. Like it or not, there are a lot of players fighting for just a […] 4 players on the Steelers roster bubble that can’t be cut - Still Curtain - Still Curtain - Pittsburgh Steelers News and Fan Community

Steelers might not be willing to offer Diontae Johnson $20 million per year

Diontae Johnson is going to rake in the money soon, but the Pittsburgh Steelers might not be the team that offers the deal he’s looking for. It’s crazy how fast the market can inflate at a certain position in the NFL. Contracts at the wide receiver position over the past few years seemed reasonable, but […] Steelers might not be willing to offer Diontae Johnson $20 million per year - Still Curtain - Still Curtain - Pittsburgh Steelers News and Fan Community

Cowboys a suggested trade partner for Steelers WR Diontae Johnson

Bleacher Report recently suggested a ‘firework’ trade that would send Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Diontae Johnson to the Cowboys. Over the 4th of July weekend, Bleacher Report’s Khristopher Knox comprised an article detailing some ‘firework’ trade proposals that would transform the league. One of the trade suggestions that Knox expanded on involved Diontae Johnson. 3 teams that would trade for Steelers WR Diontae Johnson

The Pittsburgh Steelers probably aren’t willing to trade Diontae Johnson, but here are three teams that would certainly have interest in the Pro Bowl receiver. Of all of the scenarios that could possibly come to fruition with Diontae Johnson, dealing him in a trade is probably the least likely. Parting with a player during the […] 3 teams that would trade for Steelers WR Diontae Johnson - Still Curtain - Still Curtain - Pittsburgh Steelers News and Fan Community

State of the AFC North: Steelers class of division on defense

The Steelers might have completely revamped their offense from just a couple of seasons ago, but the defense has just gotten some tweaks. Joe Haden? Gone, still unsigned in free agency. Stephon Tuitt? Retired. Joe Schobert? Released and still unsigned in free agency.

Game Plan: Kyle Shanahan’s 49ers offense offers a preview of the 2022 Steelers

Photo by Richard Rodriguez/ The Pittsburgh Steelers could be copy cats in the NFL, and that should be fine with the fan base. It feels like there’s been volumes written about “Matt Canada’s offense” these past few months. If you do a Google search you find dozens of articles, with titles like “Finding Hope in Matt Canada’s Offense,” “Kenny Pickett A Seamless Fit in Matt Canada’s Offense,” and “Mason Rudolph Says Steelers Didn’t Run Matt Canada’s Offense.” It’s a virtual cottage industry of all things Canada, from ESPN to BTSC to, hell, I...

Isaiahh Loudermilk needs to be a starter for the Steelers

Photo by Brandon Sloter/Icon Sportswire via For the 2022 Steelers defense to operate at peak efficiency to start the season, Isaiahh Loudermilk needs to be a starter. Although it is something I don't particularly like to do, and definitely don't want to make a habit of, I always admit when I am wrong. Steelers defensive lineman Isaiahh Loudermilk seems determined to prove me incorrect about everything from his draft status to his overall abilities. Instead of reliving and rehashing all the boring details of my own personal meltdown immediately after the Steelers...

The Devin Bush cat video “controversy” sure seems silly one year later

Photo by Scott Winters/Icon Sportswire via It’s been a year since Devin Bush’s unfortunate quote tweet. Still mad? It was about a year ago at this time—the evening of July 4, 2021—when I stumbled upon a video published by some random Steelers YouTuber who “buried” me for writing my satirical (but accurate if you know how Steelers fans talk) article titled: “11 Reasons Why the Steelers Will Be Totally Horrible in 2021.” Naturally, being me, I basked in the glow of this video. I mean, I’m all about heat. Give me the heat. Give me the “1980s when...

Second preseason game, not training camp, will decide Steelers starters

The Steelers second preseason game, not training camp, will decide who starts week one of the regular season. The Steelers will play the Jacksonville Jaguars in week two of the preseason, which will most likely be a preview of who starts week one of the regular season. I say most likely because of the fact […] Second preseason game, not training camp, will decide Steelers starters - Still Curtain - Still Curtain - Pittsburgh Steelers News and Fan Community

Williamson's War Room: Kazee brings versatility to Steelers defense

In very early May, somewhat inconspicuously right after the NFL Draft, the Steelers signed Damontae Kazee to a one-year contract, worth a little over $1.1 million with a small signing bonus of just $152,500. That is nearly an identical deal to what Kazee played for last year with the Cowboys after tearing his Achilles' tendon in his final season with the Falcons. Before that, he played out his four-year rookie contract with the Falcons, who selected him in fifth round of the 2017 Draft. Kazee had 12 interceptions during his time in Atlanta.

5 biggest positional battles during Steelers training camp
