Troy Taormina-USA TODAY Sports Jalen Green’s stellar play of late is rewarded as the NBA announced Green is the Western Conference Player of The Week. The Houston Rockets have been one of the best teams the last couple of weeks, winning five in a row, seven of their last eight games and surprisingly making a push for a play-in spot. One of the biggest reasons for the Rockets' turnaround has been the play of Jalen Green. On Monday, the NBA recognized Green's stellar play by awarding the Houston Rockets shooting guard the Western Conference Player of the Week award. The...

Photos by Michael Gonzales/NBAE via How much will change without the big man in the middle? With the good news being that Alperen Sengun has avoided a catastrophic fracture or tear, we can now pivot to what we should observe over the Houston Rockets’ final 15 games of the regular season. In all likelihood, the severe ankle sprain and bone bruise to the knee have ended Sengun’s season. I will only touch on Sengun’s replacement options briefly as Charles has already outlined that for the readers of TDS. Had this injury occurred later on or lingered into the start...

But of All The Thompson Gunners, Amen Was The Best | Troy Taormina-USA TODAY Sports Not Playing The Odds There’s something I’d like to get clear. The Rockets aren’t tanking. At all. That’s over. This is, after all, Phase Two. Phase Two has some lovely scenery, but is still definitely under construction. What is not in the plan for the build out of Phase Two is a tank. Military, water, gas, fish, air, or otherwise, no tanks are currently in the Rockets plans. On the ESPN podcast “The Hoop Collective” earlier this week Brian Windhorst suggested, at windy...

Photo by Carmen Mandato/ At this point it’s like “don’t be that team”. Kyle Kuzma said it best, “don't be that team”. Thankfully for the Houston Rockets, they weren't that team on this occasion. Houston walloped the Washington Wizards 135-119 tonight behind a season-high 37 point performance from Jalen Green. The Rockets played well tonight, besides turning the ball over 17 times tonight and sometimes meandering into the Wizards hasty pace. The game was close during the first quarter as Houston only led by two following 12 minutes, but the home team padded...

Fred VanVleet added 27 points for the Rockets, who won their fourth straight game. All of Houston’s starters scored in double figures in the second game since star big man Alperen Sengun injured his knee and ankle Sunday. Jordan Poole scored 25 points off the bench for the Wizards, who dropped their second game in a row after winning their previous two.
