Celtics’ Payton Pritchard Hopes Trail Blazers Fans Root For Him

As Payton Pritchard makes his homecoming Tuesday night, the crowd in Portland will be rooting for more than just the Trail Blazers. The Boston Celtics rookie, for the first time in his NBA career, gets to play the team he grew up rooting for — in the arena he’s had a ton of success in, […] The post Celtics’ Payton Pritchard Hopes Trail Blazers Fans Root For Him appeared first on NESN.com.

Romeo Langford’s immediate impact

Romeo Langford’s immediate impact

Photo by Kathryn Riley/ Romeo Langford has already shown flashes on both sides of the ball. It’s easy to forget that he’s played less than 40 professional games and how impressive it is to make an impact right away. Romeo Langford plays some damn good defense for someone with only 35 games of NBA experience. It sounds obvious, but I’m not sure people are understanding how few games that is. Marcus Smart has uncharacteristic game against Pelicans

Winslow Townson-USA TODAY Sports A brain fart and a quick succession of fouls down the stretch ended Smart’s night early. Payton Pritchard, Luke Kornet provide “the juice” in blowout win in OKC

Photo by Brian Babineau/NBAE via The rookie and newly acquired big man gave Boston a winning element after Celtics’ slow start. In the final game of a five-games-in-seven-nights stretch (that also included the stress of the trade deadline), the Celtics began the game in lackluster fashion. Despite their vastly improved ball movement, Boston failed to convert their looks from every level, falling to an early deficit as a result. Brad Stevens described the team as having “no juice” when discussing Boston’s lack of energy and facing a 12-point deficit midway...
