Rapid Recap: Bucks 124, Lakers 128

Photo by Stacy Revere/ Milwaukee coughs up a game they should’ve had In a marathon of a game, the Los Angeles Lakers came from behind and defeated the Milwaukee Bucks, 128-124. NBA.com Box Score Cold shooting plagued the Lakers in the first quarter, as they clunked together a 7-of-25 shooting line in the first 12 minutes. Milwaukee did a good job taking advantage of that, Led by seven points apiece from Giannis Antetokounmpo and Bobby Portis, the Bucks leapt out to a 32-16 advantage after the opening period. Deer Diaries, Ep. 179: Bucks Crowned Western Conference Champs

Jeff Hanisch-USA TODAY Sports One conference title down, one more to go In a week that started on an off note with a loss to the Boston Celtics, the Milwaukee Bucks turned things around, dispatching the Brooklyn Nets and Oklahoma City Thunder. That turn of events sent me, Kyle Carr, and Adam Paris into visions of sunshine and unicorns, and we recorded our latest podcast episode accordingly. For the latest edition of Deer Diaries (A Milwaukee Bucks Podcast!) we talked through the importance of Bobby Portis to any sustained postseason run, how much a signature win in...

Milwaukee Bucks vs. Brooklyn Nets Preview: Coming Back for Some Home Cooking

Photo by Dustin Satloff/ Dame and the Bucks look to get three-game home stand off on the right foot It was an impressive showing from a Giannis-less Milwaukee Bucks last night, as Damian Lillard and Bobby Portis combined for 56 points in a 122-119 defeat to the Boston Celtics. The team won’t have much time to process the loss, as they will have the Brooklyn Nets on tap for the third time this season. This will be the first and only time these two teams will play in Milwaukee, as the Bucks won the previous two on the road in Brooklyn, a tight 129-125 victory on Nov. 6...

Boston Celtics withstand late surge from Milwaukee Bucks, win 122-119

Winslow Townson-USA TODAY Sports Bobby Portis fueled a Milwaukee comeback, but the Celtics made plays when it counted to secure the win An injury to Giannis Antetokounmpo robbed Wednesday night’s showdown between the two top teams in the Eastern Conference of some of its intrigue on Wednesday night. The Boston Celtics and Milwaukee Bucks met for the third time this season, but the Bucks’ MVP candidate forward missed his second consecutive game and fifth of the season. The Greek Freak’s absence didn’t rob the contest of drama, however, as the Bucks rallied from a...

Rapid Recap: Bucks 119, Celtics 122

Photo by Adam Glanzman/ Bobby Portis and Damian Lillard come alive when it was too little, too late In what looked like a night to forget for the Milwaukee Bucks without Giannis Antetokounmpo, they would rally late to make a game of things before ultimately falling to the Boston Celtics, 119-122. NBA.com Box Score Game Recap It was a mismatch early in terms of offensive effectiveness between the two teams, with Damian Lillard taking his time to get off the mark for Milwaukee while Boston had little trouble driving at the basket. Once Jayson Tatum subbed out, the Bucks...

Deer Diaries, Ep. 178: Get Home, Get Right

Photo by Patrick McDermott/ At first they were lost, now they are found At first, the Milwaukee Bucks were, like, so done having gone 1-3 on their road trip to the Golden State. Then the team returned home, won two games, and wouldn’t you know it! They’re back. Kyle, Adam and I got together last night to bask in the afterglow of Bucks wins over the Sixers and Suns, talk about the successful return of Khris Middleton to the lineup, and issue apologies to friend of the podcast Bobby Portis for having had the nerve to consider trading him a few months ago. All that,...

Rapid Recap: Bucks 140, Suns 129

Milwaukee explodes for 24 threes in win In Khris’ Middleton return to the lineup and in a game that didn’t feature Giannis Antetokounmpo, the Milwaukee Bucks handled the Phoenix Suns, 140-129. NBA.com Box Score With Giannis ruled out as a late scratch with hamstring soreness, the Bucks really let it fly from the perimeter to tip this one off. They’d connect on 7-of-14 3PA in the opening quarter, helping them establish a 39-36 lead going into the second quarter. The 3-point ball continued to fall for the Bucks in the second quarter, especially for Bobby Portis. At the...
