Put Rafael Devers in the Home Run Derby

Put Rafael Devers in the Home Run Derby

Photo by Omar Rawlings/ IMO We are quickly approaching the All-Star break, with less than two weeks remaining in the month of June and then not much more than a week from there until we halt the season for a few days for All-Star festivities. This year’s event is going to be held at Coors Field in Denver after the venue changed from Atlanta. Putting aside the reasons for that change and focusing just on the field, the biggest boon from this alteration to the plans is that the Home Run Derby is going to be in Colorado. Depending on how they handle the baseballs for the...

Alex Verdugo is benefiting from the Red Sox sluggers, and vice versa

Photo by Kevin C. Cox/ It’s a perfect mutualistic relationship. The best three hitters in the Red Sox lineup are, pretty clearly, Xander Bogaerts, Rafael Devers, and J.D. Martinez. I think you’d have a hard time arguing otherwise. You can put that trio in whatever order you’d like (I’d have it as it’s listed, but that’s not important), but those are the top three. So being the fourth-best hitter on a team with those names could theoretically be pretty disheartening. You could be a forgotten man in some sense. But Alex Verdugo does not appear to be upset...

Watch Rafael Devers, Hunter Renfroe Go Back-To-Back For Red Sox

It didn’t take the Boston Red Sox long to jump out to an early lead against the Atlanta Braves. Boston got right to work in the first inning of Tuesday’s game at Truist Park with back-to-back singles from Kiké Hernández and Alex Verdugo. Braves pitcher Tucker Davidson settled down and got the next two outs, […] The post Watch Rafael Devers, Hunter Renfroe Go Back-To-Back For Red Sox appeared first on NESN.com.

Red Sox at Braves Lineups: Pack Your Bags

Staff Photo By Matt Stone/MediaNews Group/Boston Herald The Red Sox will start an eight-game road trip by visiting the Atlanta Braves tonight. The Boston Red Sox won their 40th game of the season on Monday, courtesy of a walk-off hit from Rafael Devers. They are one of six teams to reach this milestone this year, meaning that they are still one of the best squads in baseball at the moment. For their next test, they’ll start an eight-game road trip by visiting a team many expected to be in the best-teams-in-baseball conversation when the season began, as they’ll...

Alex Cora’s Reminder About Rafael Devers Should Scare Rest Of MLB

Rafael Devers is rolling, but he might just be getting started. Enjoy This Video Of Xander Bogaerts Watching Rafael Devers’ Walk-Off

Xander Bogaerts is as elite a hype man for Rafael Devers as he is a shortstop. Case in point: Monday night. Rafael Devers Salutes Vladimir Guerrero Jr. After Red Sox’s Walk-Off Win

Rafael Devers played the role of hero for the Red Sox on Monday night at Fenway Park. But had it not been for a clutch at-bat from Vladimir Guerrero Jr., Boston’s third baseman wouldn’t have needed to step into the batter’s box in the bottom half of the ninth inning. With the Blue Jays trailing […] The post Rafael Devers Salutes Vladimir Guerrero Jr. After Red Sox’s Walk-Off Win appeared first on NESN.com.

Rafael Devers Was ‘Locked In’ Before Walk-Off For Red Sox Vs. Blue Jays

It’s not ideal that the Red Sox were one out away from a win over the Toronto Blue Jays when a homer from Vladimir Guerrero Jr. tied things up in the ninth. But at least the heart of Boston’s order was up. Alex Verdugo got things going in the bottom half of the inning, and […] The post Rafael Devers Was ‘Locked In’ Before Walk-Off For Red Sox Vs. Red Sox Wrap: Rafael Devers’ Walk-Off Lifts Boston To Win Vs. Blue Jays

Nathan Eovaldi gave the Boston Red Sox exactly what they needed Monday. And when that wasn’t enough, Rafael Devers got the job done with a walk-off. And it’s a good thing, because in a 2-1 win over the Toronto Blue Jays, they didn’t get much else until a ninth inning rally from the offense. Eovaldi […] The post Red Sox Wrap: Rafael Devers’ Walk-Off Lifts Boston To Win Vs. Blue Jays appeared first on NESN.com.

(John Tomase; NBC Sports Boston) Rafael Devers is already a star on the field but he is starting to feel more comfortable with himself off the field. (Jen McCaffrey; The Athletic) Kumar Rocker racked up 13 strikeouts in 7 1⁄3 innings in a dominant start against ECU Friday afternoon. Red Sox Notes: Alex Cora Slaps Significant Label On Alex Verdugo

Alex Verdugo often can be overlooked as fans and media members alike fawn over the Red Sox offense. This isn’t necessarily a slight of Verdugo. J.D. Martinez still is among the game’s best sluggers and Rafael Devers is on his way to becoming one of baseball’s most feared bats. Xander Bogaerts is, well, Xander Bogaerts.
