Minnesota owner attacks Kevin Love

Minnesota owner attacks Kevin Love

I would take Love in a second, but to be fair. His defense has been questionable for years. He's a top 3 rebounder. He's one of the best at his position, if nor the best power forward. But his defense has known to be weak, and his former team called him out. I agree with Love, he should focus on his players.ESPNNew Cleveland Cavaliers forward Kevin Love has a message for Minnesota Timberwolves owner Glen Taylor: Quit worrying about me and focus on your team instead.Love, appearing on ESPN Radio's "Mike & Mike" on Wednesday morning, responded to comments made by Taylor, who said Tuesday that...

Love Responds To Taylor, Emotions Run High, And New Era Begins.

After the blockbuster trade that brought Andrew Wiggins, Thad Young, and Anthony Bennett to Minneapolis nothing much is new in Wolves territory. Except Glen Taylor is bitter and Kevin Love is not. It's been a crazy summer for Timberwolves basketball, and Andrew Wiggins probably shares the same feelings;...

The Rays Tank: All Smyles in Baltimore

The Rays Tank: All Smyles in Baltimore

So punny. Will never get old. Especially if this kinda pitching keeps occurring. I mean... Since trade sending David Price to Tigers & Drew Smyly to Rays, only one has pitched like ace. • Smyly: 3-1, 1.50 ERA • Price: 1-2, 4.41 ERA — SportsCenter (@SportsCenter) August 28, 2014 David Price allowed more runs in the 3rd inning tonight (8) than Drew Smyly has allowed in 5 starts with the Rays (6). — Jonah Keri (@jonahkeri) August 28, 2014 Smyly has now gone 7 IP or more in 4 straight starts. Before that, he'd finished 7 IP only 3 times in 37 career starts....

Postgame notes: “It builds confidence, you know”

The Yankees made David Price throw 28 pitches in the first inning. In the second inning, their first two hitters singled. Price pitched out of each jam, but already the Yankees offense was showing some signs of life, and that was before the nine-hit third inning. “It’s fun, but you don’t see that...

Kershaw returns to scene of crime

Clayton Kershaw's consistency is mind-numbing

PHOENIX – Interviewing Clayton Kershaw after one of his performances these days is a bit like those old “Chris Farley Show” skits from “Saturday Night Live.” Fake Farley: “Remember that time when you threw a no-hitter and struck out 15 Colorado Rockies?” Fake Kershaw: “Yeah, I remember.” Fake...

Sean Newcomb: Halos Heaven's Top Angel Prospect

Ryan Ghan and Turk's Teeth team up to provide a post-draft, post-trade-deadline look at the lottery tickets and green shoots on the Angel's farm. TT – To the utter surprise of nobody, our selection for the #1 Angels prospect on the farm, the top crop, the most promising lad, the good-good in a bad-bad bunch is.... Sean Newcomb. It'd be hard to imagine otherwise. He's the Angels' first first-round draft selection since 2011, was the consensus second-best college lefty on the board in the 2014 draft, and it was a complete surprise to the Angels scouting dept that he "fell" to them with pick...

Thursday Night Will Be Bittersweet For DeMarcus Ware

Longtime Dallas linebacker/defensive end DeMarcus Ware will return to AT&T Stadium Thursday night as a member of the opposing team, the Denver Broncos. After nine seasons as a member of the Dallas Cowboys, the former first round draft pick will make what could be his last visit to AT&T Stadium as an active football player when the Denver Broncos visit to close out the 2014 NFL preseason for both clubs. During his tenure with the Cowboys, Ware recorded a franchise record 117 sacks and earned Pro Bowl honors seven times. He also played his way into the hearts of everyone who follows the blue...

Indians ace Corey Kluber suffers second consecutive loss, 3-2 to White Sox

CHICAGO: It seems hard to say Corey Kluber appears to be tiring when the Indians’ ace right-hander allowed only three runs Wednesday night. But the American League Cy Young Award candidate was so dominant through 26 starts this season that a 32-pitch inning against the Chicago White Sox felt like a warning sign. Especially when it came on the heels of his first loss in more than a month. After a rough third inning, Kluber regrouped and lasted 6⅓. But he took his second consecutive loss as the White Sox prevailed 3-2 in the second game of a three-game series at U.S. Cellular Field. Kluber...

Meriweather’s suspension could shuffle Redskins’ defensive backfield

Given the two-game suspension of strong safety Brandon Meriweather, second-year player Baccari Rambo is expected to get plenty of work in Thursday’s preseason finale against Tampa Bay. Rusney Castillo's first night in America spent at Beyonce/Jay Z concert

Welcome to the US, Rusney. You already seem to have things well in hand. Rusney Castillo signed with the Red Sox before establishing residence in the United States or obtaining a work visa, so his first night in America was Wednesday night. He got his work visa, so he can now play baseball for the Sox' organization, but that's not the most important news from ESPN Boston's Gordon Edes: no, that would be his reporting that Castillo spent his first night in the US attending a Beyonce and Jay Z concert in Miami. Castillo, of course, is represented by Jay Z's Roc Nation agency, so it's not...
